Since 2022, I have served in various volunteer roles at San Francisco Schoolhouse, including a member of the Communications Team and Development Team. In these positions, I authored emails to the parent community and created flyers for events. In a small K-8 school with a busy, but very involved, parent community, it is vital to have clear and comprehensive communications. The goal was often to anticipate any potential questions or points of confusion in the initial communications, so that there was no need for multiple clarifying emails. The tone is kept warm, friendly, and light to keep a community feel in this tight-knit group. Below are a few examples of my emails to the parent community and event flyers.
